how long do the shadow-balls stay bright?
The balls work great at twilight, because the ambient light charges them. Once it is completely dark the balls must be charged with a light source. The fastest charging light is a black light or UV light. Once charged, the balls will stay brightly lit for 2-3 minutes.
How long do the shadow-balls take to charge with a uv flashlight?
The official charge times are:
3-4 mins of ultra violet (black) light
7-8 mins of direct sunlight
21-23 mins of fluorescent light (strip lighting or energy saving bulbs)
24-26 mins of incandescent light (standard filament bulbs)
With a shadow-ball charging bag the charge time is less than 3 minutes!
Can you charge the balls with a regular flashlight?
Yes you can! But it will take much longer and you would need to shine the light around the whole ball.
